Adebayo Adenrele

The lawmaker representing Ekiti South Federal Constituency I in the House of Representatives, Ojuawo Rufus Adeniyi, has expressed confidence in the growing support for Governor Biodun Oyebanji, attributing it to the administration’s visible achievements across critical sectors of the state.

Ojuawo stated this in Ise-Ekiti during the campaign tour of Governor Biodun Oyebanji to Ekiti South Senatorial District, consisting of Emure, Ise/Orun and Ikere.

The Governor, had earlier displayed his show of strength at Ekiti North Federal Constituency I consisting of Ikole and Oye, Ekiti North Federal Constituency II consisting of Ilejemeje, Moba and Ido-Osi, as well as the Ekiti South II Federal Constituency consisting of Omuo and Gbonyin Local Governments, to strengthen his re-election bid come June 20 governorship poll.

The federal lawmaker said the massive turnout of people reflected the love and trust Ekiti people have for the governor, stressing that his administration has recorded significant progress in education, healthcare, social and environmental development, as well as youth empowerment.

Ojuawo stated that members of the National Assembly and other stakeholders working with the governor were only complementing his efforts because of their belief in his leadership style, boosting that the governor would surpass the target of 500,000 votes being projected for his re-election ambition.

His words, “We know what this government stands for, don’t we? We can see its impact everywhere. Do you want to talk about education? Do you want to talk about health? Do you want to talk about social development, environmental development, or empowerment? A lot of things have been done.

“I don’t need to say much because what he has done is visible for everyone to see. The crowd you are seeing today is a reflection of the love people have for Governor Biodun Oyebanji in Ekiti State. Those of us working with him are complementing his efforts in all aspects because we appreciate his leadership.“We know that the 500,000 votes he is asking for will come, and I am sure he is going to get even more than that.

“You can see the mammoth crowd gathered here today. Does anybody believe this kind of crowd can come out here? Yet, people came out in large numbers because they believe in him.

“A few days ago, there was healthcare outreach across Ekiti State in the 16 local governments. It was facilitated by members of the National Assembly in partnership with the government. Governor Oyebanji is someone who does nothing without consultation.

“At every level, we consult with the people. When we return, we will continue to consult because consultation helps us understand the priorities of the people. Once we know their priorities, we turn them into projects that will benefit the state.

“You can see what Governor Oyebanji is doing in agriculture. As of today, he is empowering 5,000 youths through agriculture. In the same way, I am also contributing my quota. I have projects of my own. I have supported the hospital here and helped improve healthcare services in the area”.

Also speaking at Emure-Ekiti, a leading aspirant for the Ekiti South Federal Constituency II seat in the House of Representatives, Oluwaseun Adeboyejo, said the gathering was aimed at promoting youth inclusiveness and supporting the achievements of Oyebanji’s administration in healthcare, education, infrastructure and other sectors.

He declared that residents of Emure were fully in support of the governor’s second-term ambition and assured that the community would contribute significantly toward the administration’s 500,000-vote target.

Adeboyejo stated that the town already has over 3,000 registered APC members who are fully mobilised for the election, expressing confidence that Emure alone would deliver more than 5,000 votes for the governor.

“We are here today to support youth inclusiveness and the progress happening in Ekiti State. We are here to support the legacies of the present administration in healthcare, education, infrastructure and other sectors.

“We are also here to support Governor Biodun Oyebanji’s second-term ambition. That is why we can confidently say that Emure Ekiti is fully in support of the Oyebanji administration.

“We are on ground with our supporters and party members to welcome and support him today.

“We can assure you that Emure is fully committed to this ambition. We are confident that Emure alone will deliver over 5,000 votes. We already have more than 3,000 registered APC members in the town and we are fully mobilised for success”.

In Ikere-Ekiti, former Ekiti State Commissioner for Information, Olumuyiwa Olumilua, also commended Governor Oyebanji’s performance, particularly in Ikere, saying the overwhelming show of support by residents reflected satisfaction with the administration’s developmental strides.

He noted that the appointment of an indigene of Ikere as deputy governor had strengthened the bond between the government and the people.

According to him, the governor has invested more in projects in Ikere than previous administrations, while also ensuring increased political representation and opportunities for the people at both state and national levels.
