As Christians mark Pentecost Sunday, a Cleric, Reverend Canon Afolabi Kumapayi has appealed to leaders to toe the path of righteousness and always but in place measures that would make life comfortable for the Masses.

This was after he had called on Christians to be upright in their service to God and humanity.

The Cleric who made the call on Sunday at a Church Service held at the New Era Anglican Church Onala in Ado, said that Christians should at all times allow the holy Spirit to lead them especially during tribulations.

Reverend Canon Kumapayi appealed to Christians to surrender control of their lives, families, and daily decisions to the Holy Spirit rather than relying on mere human instinct.

The Anglican Cleric explained that the power of the spirit was essential in man’s mandate to make meaningful impact on others saying the Holy Spirit was of eternal value.

He advised Christians to live holy to attract God’s mercy, saying hypocrisy was also responsible for delay in achieving goals.

Reverend Canon Kumapayi urged Christians to shun bitterness, wickedness and hatred in order to enjoy the goodness of God in life.

Pentecost Sunday is a Christian holiday that takes place on the 49th day after Easter.

It commemorates the descent of the Holy Spirit upon the Apostles of Jesus, Mary and other followers of Christ, while they were in Jerusalem celebrating the Feast of Weeks, as described in the Acts of the Apostles.

The day marks the Birthday of the Church in Christendom.
