Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, on Monday paid a courtesy visit to the governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in the June 20 governorship election, Ambassador Dare Bejide, as part of efforts to foster unity and inclusive governance in the state.

Rayopost.com gathered that Oyebanji, who was accompanied by his Special Adviser on Political Affairs, Chief Jide Awe, visited Bejide at his residence in Ado-Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital.

Even though the visit was a private one, rayopost.com learnt that the move is widely seen as fulfilling the commitment he(Oyebanji ) made in his post-election victory speech to reach out to the two major candidates who participated in the poll in the interest of Ekiti’s development.

The governor had, shortly after the election, pledged to work with leaders and candidates across political divides, stressing that governance should transcend partisan interests and focus on the collective progress of the state.

Monday’s visit came after a similar gesture on June 21, when the governor visited the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dr. Wole Oluyede, to seek his support and cooperation in building a more prosperous Ekiti.

Observers described the latest meeting with Ambassador Bejide as another demonstration of Oyebanji’s commitment to political reconciliation, peaceful coexistence and inclusive leadership following his victory in the June 20 governorship election.

The visit is expected to further strengthen the atmosphere of unity and collaboration among political stakeholders as the administration continues its drive to accelerate development across the state through its six-pillar shared prosperity ahead.
