A barber identified simply as Emeka has been arrested by the Abia State Police Command following the alleged discovery of a clay pot containing shaved human hair and other suspected fetish items in his residence.
According to reports, the suspect was apprehended after his neighbour, Johnson Ikenga and lodged a complaint with the police, alleging that the barber had threatened him.
Police officers who responded to the complaint reportedly conducted a search of Emeka’s one-room apartment, where they allegedly recovered a clay pot filled with what was believed to be human hair, alongside other items suspected to be associated with ritual practices.
During interrogation, the suspect reportedly admitted ownership of the clay pot but was said to have been unable to explain the purpose of the items or provide a satisfactory account of how the human hair came into his possession.
The suspect has since been taken into custody at the Central Police Station in Umuahia, where investigations are ongoing.
