Adebayo Adenrele

The Ekiti State Government has dissolved the executive council of the Okada Riders Association, Ekiti State Chapter, at all levels and appointed a 10-man Caretaker Committee to oversee its affairs.

The dissolution, which takes immediate effect, was announced following a recommendation by the Board of Trustees of the association.

This was contained in a statement signed and made available to journalists by the Ekiti Commissioner for Transportation, Kehinde Ajobiewe.

Recall that some members of the association had earlier staged a peaceful protest in the state capital to negate the proposed extension of tenure of its chairman, Kunle Asaolu after two terms in office.

Meanwhile, in a statement released by the state government, Kunle Asaolu was still appointed as the chairman of the caretaker committee after dissolving the executives.

Adelegan Olowuro Sunday will serve as Deputy Chairman, while Alade Gbenga will serve as Secretary.

Other members of the committee are Saka Salami, Ajibade Ojo Ademola Omotuyi, Ayodeji Jegede, Lukman Saka, Joseph Emmanuel, Oloruntola Idowu, and Agboola Emmanuel.

According to the statement, the newly constituted committee will be inaugurated on Friday, September 25, 2026, at the Ministry of Transportation, Old Governor’s Office, Ado-Ekiti, by 10:00 a.m., pending further directives from the government.
