The Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Ekiti State Chapter, has felicitated Her Excellency, Erelu Bisi Adeleye-Fayemi, on the occasion of her birthday.
The Chairperson of the association, Comrade Adewumi Ademiju, stated this in a statement signed and made available to journalists by the secretary, Comrade Funmi Falae.
She described Erelu Fayemi as “a beacon of hope and a tireless advocate whose impact on women and children is both historic and enduring”.
The association praised her unwavering commitment to gender justice and inclusive leadership. Ademiju noted that Erelu Fayemi has redefined advocacy through action.
The statement read in part, “She didn’t just speak for women—she created space for them to lead, thrive, and influence policy. Her legacy is visible in the lives she’s empowered and the laws she helped enact.
“Through her co-founding of the African Women’s Development Fund (AWDF), Erelu Fayemi has supported thousands of women-led initiatives across Africa. In Ekiti State, her role was pivotal in the passage of the Gender-Based Violence Prohibition Law and the Equal Opportunities Law.
“She is also the founder of the Ekiti Development Foundation (EDF), which delivers life-changing support in education, health, and economic empowerment. As an author and speaker, she continues to inspire women globally.
“On this special occasion, NAWOJ Ekiti celebrates Erelu Bisi Fayemi as a compassionate leader, a visionary, and a champion of justice. We wish her a joyful birthday and many more years of impactful service”.
