Tinubu, Oyebanji’s endorsement’ll attract non-APC Supporters, says Ex-Ekiti Deputy Gov

Adebayo Adenrele

Abiodun Aluko, a former Deputy Governor of Ekiti State and Chairman of the State’s Endorsement Committee for President Bola Tinubu, Governor Biodun Oyebanji and his deputy, Monisade Afuye, for reelection in 2027 and 2026 respectively, has stated that the high-profile gathering will attract non-members of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Aluko, who described the endorsement as a rally of support that transcends partisan politics, said it a “people-driven affirmation” of transformative leadership and a consolidation of collective support for continued progress at both federal and state levels.

Briefing journalists on Thursday in Ado-Ekiti, Aluko hailed the President’s Renewed Hope Agenda, saying it had brought bold economic reforms, decentralization of powerband inclusive development to Nigeria.

He said the statewide endorsement programme scheduled for Monday, July 28, 2025, is billed to hold at the Ekiti Parapo Pavilion in Ado-Ekiti, with the expectation to draw thousands of participants from all the 16 local government areas of the State.

The former deputy governor also cited Tinubu’s support for state-led initiatives, youth empowerment and digital economy growth as key examples of federal backing that had positively impacted Ekiti.

The committee chairman also commended Governor Oyebanji and his deputy for their astonishing and outstanding stewardship over their giant strides in road construction, rural electrification, education, healthcare and job creation.

Aluko passed vote of confidence on the Governor for subjecting his administration to the one committed to inclusive development, saying his selfless governance approach has built trust across communities, youth groups, professionals and traditional institutions.

He stressed that other stakeholders across the state including trade unions, youth associations, market women and political groups have been mobilized for a hitch-free programme.

Aluko equally confirmed collaboration with emergency medical teams, public health officials, security agencies including the Nigeria Police Force, NSCDC, DSS and FRSC to ensure effective crowd control and protection of lives and property.

He reiterated that the event is not simply ceremonial but a deliberate move to strengthen the bond between leadership and citizens and to support a governance model that prioritizes transparency, inclusion and growth.

While calling for public cooperation, Aluko urged participants to maintain order, comply with security instructions and uphold Ekiti’s longstanding culture of peaceful civic engagements.

He said in part, “This event is not just an endorsement but a people-driven affirmation of the transformative leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji. It is a confirmation of the series of endorsements cutting across all strata and a unification of the wish of Ekiti people and beyond to unite behind a common vision for continued progress.

“It is therefore a defining moment in our political journey, a moment to reaffirm our commitment, express our gratitude, and showcase the enduring partnership between leadership and the people.

“As we come together in unity and purpose, we must begin by acknowledging the exemplary leadership and unwavering dedication of His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, to the progress of Nigeria and the upliftment of all federating states, particularly Ekiti State.

“Under President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, we have witnessed bold economic reforms, renewed energy in infrastructural development, decentralization of power, and robust infrastructural development and an intentional drive toward inclusion and innovation.

“We equally celebrate the sterling achievements of our own Governor, His Excellency, Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji. In less than three years, Governor Oyebanji has demonstrated uncommon focus, humility, and effectiveness in governance.

“From road construction and rural electrification to investments in education, healthcare, and job creation, Ekiti State has witnessed immeasurable progress across the six key development pillars of his administration.

“The BAO administration’s consultative and people-first approach has solidified a broad-based trust across communities, youth groups, professionals, and traditional institutions. The Endorsement Programme is therefore a citizen-driven initiative to recognize these laudable strides and reaffirm our support for continuity and good governance”.
