Adamawa Fmr-Corps Member, Quadri Tella earns Presidential award, automatic employment, others

Quadri Tella, a former Corps Member deployed to Adamawa State, has bagged Presidential award and automatic employment into the Federal Civil Service, in recognition of his outstanding and meritorious performance to humanity during his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) programme between 2021 and 2022.

Quadri, with state code AD/21B/2218, emerged as one of the 210 awardees of the NYSC 2020-2023 combined Presidential award which took place at the banquet hall of the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

President Bola Tinubu also awarded Quadri with a cash prize of N250,000, Scholarship from PGD up to PhD, a gold Medal and a Certificate of honour signed by the President himself.

The President, represented by the Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Nkeiruka Onyejeocha, commended Josiah and other awardees for their discipline, selflessness, commitment, patriotism, teamwork and integrity.

Quadri, who hailed from Atiba Local Government area of Oyo State, graduated as a student of Medicine and Surgery from Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso (LAUTECH).

He was mobilised for National Service and deployed to Adamawa State during the 2021 Batch ‘B’. At the end of the Orientation Course, Dr Quadri was posted to the Cottage Hospital Mayor Belwa Local Government Area, for his Primary Assignment where he quickly settled down for Service.

He was a member of the Federal Road Safety CDS Group where he participated actively with his colleagues in carrying out sensitization on road control and road usage.

In addition to the group activities, Dr Quadri noticed that viral Hepatitis B and C were very rampant in his host Community. This prompted him to mobilize resources from the Community to embark on the following personal Community Development Service projects:

These intervention included: Conduct of free medical and surgical outreach in the host Community with lectures on the viral Hepatitis B and C, Conduct of free consultation, medical examination and test as well as provision of free drugs for about 115 individuals in the Commty; and Conduct of free surgery for 2 individuals.

The projects, which impacted positively on his host Community, earned him Commendation Letters from the Community.
