The Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Ekiti State chapter, has appointed Demola Atobaba the Chairman Projects Planning Committee.
This was a follow-up to the endorsement and approval of the Chairman of SWAN, Quozee Oladapo led-executive and members of the association in the state.
Performing the official inauguration ceremony, the Technical Advisor to Governor Biodun Oyebanji on Sports Development, Dr Olusola Osetoba, charged the newly inaugurated Project Planning Committee members to be up and going to ensure adequate service delivery.
Reports have it that the SWAN Projects Planning Committee was inaugurated at the Governor Office Annex in Ado-Ekiti, the state capital on Tuesday amidst pomp and pageantry.
The Technical Advisor commended members of the Sports Writers for their commitment to the development of grassroot sports in Ekiti.
She urged the newly inaugurated committee members to work in unity and as a team to achieve their desired goals for SWAN and other relevant bodies in the state.
Her words: “I am delighted to inaugurate the SWAN Project Planning Committee, it is a good initiative by the association and I believe it will further promote the development of the sports in Ekiti.
“I thereby inaugurate the committee for the development and promotion of sports and SWAN activities in Ekiti in the name of God the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit”, she said.
In his acceptance speech, the Chairman of the Committee, comrade Demola Atobaba, thanked members and leaders of SWAN for the confidence reposed in him to head the committee.
Atobaba assured members of the association that his team would carry out every assignment given to them diligently and successfully.
He urged members to support the decisions of the committee and work along with them to achieve the greater success expected in all the proposed programmes for the association to take its rightful position.
“I want to thank the executive and leaders of SWAN for counting I and my committee members worthy to serve in the Project Planning Committee of the association.
“I want to assure members that we will not fail in our duties to ensure that all the proposed programmes of the association are well executed and successful,” he stated.
Other members of the Project Planning Committee of the association include, Adedeji Egbebi as Secretary, Akintomiwa Bolarinwa, Tosin Poopola and Bernard Fagbemiro as members.
