Ekiti ’26: Kayode Ojo’ll work with Oyebanji, Tinubu has summoned him – Senate Leader

Adebayo Adenrele

The Senate Leader of the National Assembly, Senator Opeyemi Bamidele has stated that a former gubernatorial aspirant of All Progressive Congress (APC) in Ekiti, Kayode Ojo will work with the incumbent Governor, Biodun Oyebanji to ensure that the party secures victory come 2026 governorship poll.

Recall that Kayode Ojo was disqualified by the National Working Committee of the Party for not meeting up with the necessary requirements, a decision that has caused rancour among his loyalists.

Just today, some of the loyalists in their numbers stormed the national headquarters of the party in Abuja, demanding for his reinstatement as an Aspirant to contest in the party’s primary election slated for October 27.

However, speaking with journalists at the state’s Secretariat in Ado-Ekiti, Bamidele said Kayode Ojo confidentially told him that President Bola Tinubu summoned him and advised to work with the incumbent Governor of the state.

His words, “Engr Kayode Ojo told me that Tinubu has talked to him to stay down, go back home and make peace.

“He told me that he didn’t go to court to seek redress because of the President’s advice and I gave him a hug. Ojo will come home as advised by Tinubu to ensure smooth campaign.

“I’m convinced he’s going to work closely with the party to ensure that we get what we want and give the Governor the honour he deserves.”
