…says Ekiti people’ll reward his sterling performance with votes next year
A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekiti State, Muyiwa Olumilua has congratulated Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji over his emergence as the consensus candidate of the party for the 2026 governorship election.
Olumilua, a former commissioner for Information in a statement on Wednesday explained that overwhelming supports and endorsements of Governor Oyebanji were the reflections of his impactful governance witnessed in the state in the last three years.
Describing the governor as a passionate and committed leader whose projects and programmes reflected the yearnings of the people, he said the outcome of the primary election where he was unanimously affirmed by 885 delegates and other stakeholders set the stage for his impending victory in the June 20, 2026 election.
According to him, the state has witnessed tremendous growth and development across all sectors including education, health, agriculture, human capital development under his administration in the last three years, hence the support from all and sundry.
The Ikere-Ekiti born politician said series of developmental projects being commissioned by fellow governors and former governors in the last two weeks in the state points to the fact that the governor has justified the mandate of the people he got in 2022.
He lauded the inclusive style of governance of the governor which has made all former governors including those in the opposition to declare support for him, adding that this gesture has helped restored orderliness, progress and peace to the state.
Olumilua said, ” I want to join others to celebrate and congratulate our amiable Governor, Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji on his affirmation as a our consensus candidate for the next year’s governorship election in Ekiti State.
” I have no doubt in my mind that the process represented the yearnings and expectations of the majority of people of the state who have witnessed the transformations being carried out by the administration in the last three years.
” Indeed, we are happy to witness and be part of history in the state as the governor’s unanimous endorsement send a strong signal for a new beginning in the State’s political space.
” Like the APC delegates, the people of Ekiti are waiting and getting set to reward the governor with their votes across the 177 wards in the next year’s election for his superlative, impactful and strategic governance for him to continue for a second term till 2030.”
He promised to contribute his quota by mobilizing and galvanizing support of eligible voters across the 16 Local Government Areas of the state towards achieving total and convincing victory for the governor next year.
