Following the return of the All Progressives Congress, APC presidential standard-bearer, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu from London, activities have been making rounds throughout the Country, especially in the southwest zone in realising the presidency seat come 2023.
Recently, a Student Forum group for Tinubu known as TINUBU/SHETTIMA STUDENTS VANGUARD(TSSV) has flagged support for the candidate, adding that he is the only candidate that can bring an end to the reoccurring lingering strike that is terrorising tertiary institutions in the country.
Speaking in a Press conference on Wednesday in Ado-Ekiti, the National Coordinator who also double as the Immediate past Chairman of National Association of Nigerian Students, Comrade Sunday Asefon recalled the policies Tinubu introduced into the education sector with payment of WAEC fee for Students in Lagos during his time as the Governor of the State.
According to him, Tinubu decentralised the Health Management Board which led to the creation of LASAMBUS, an Ambulance management Scheme, Hospital Services Commission and Lagos State Healthy Facility Monitoring and Accreditation Agency.
The Forum thereby donated Vehicles for the upward movement campaign activities of Tinubu/Shettima 2023 as part of their unveiling agenda, urging all Nigerians to join hands with them.
In his words: “As far as we are concerned and we are here to say it loud and clear, we are in support of Bola Tinubu’s ambition. Nigerian Students are solidly behind him. He is our first choice, the second choice and the third chose for the exalted seat as we believe he is one a leader who value education and will bring about a new direction to thr education sector most especially by putting a total end to them reoccurring lingering strike that affects our tertiary institutions.”
“He introduced numerous policies in the education sector, payment of WAEC fee for Students from all walks of life so far you live in Lagos several tuition and indigent scholarships, disbursement of Students bursary and many Schools were built.”
“He decentralised the health system, the decentralisation of the Health Management Board led to the creation of LASAMBUS, an ambulance management Scheme, Hospital Services Commission and Lagos State Health Facility Monitoring and Accreditation Agency.”
“On this note as part of the unveiling agenda, the Students Vanguard is hereby donating Campaign vehicles for the upward movement campaign activities of Tinubu/Shettima 2023.”
“We thereby beckon on all Nigerians to join us in this journey of hope and path of greatness.”
The TSSV National Secretary, Comrade Shettima Umar unveiled the two vehicles donated by the students to canvass support for Tinubu.
