The Governor of Ekiti State, Biodun Oyebanji has rewarded about one hundred outstanding street sweepers, drivers and staff of the State waste Management Agency for their contributions to clean and waste free environment in the year 2025.
Presenting the cash gift to the beneficiaries on behalf of the Governor, Director General, Ekiti State Waste Management Agency, EKSWAMA, Sunkanmi Onipede explained that described the Thanksgiving Service as a deliberate act of appreciation for life, strength, and the collective effort that sustained the Authority through the past year.
Mr Onipede emphasized that the work of sanitation is foundational to public health, environmental sustainability, and the overall image of Ekiti State, noting that the contributions of sweepers and operatives often go unnoticed despite their daily impact on society.
The Director General reaffirmed the government’s resolve to continue improving working conditions, promoting professionalism, and strengthening teamwork across all levels of the Authority.
He encouraged staff to approach the new year with renewed discipline, integrity, and a shared sense of responsibility toward keeping Ekiti State clean and safe.
The Thanksgiving Service concluded with prayers for guidance, protection, and success in the year ahead, symbolizing a collective commitment to service, excellence, and community impact.
