The Inspector General of Police, Usman Akali Baba on Wednesday condemned alleged assault of female police officer, Inspector Olorunsogo Bamidele, by her supervisor, DCO Mathew Ajayi, in Ode Omu, Osun State stating that Justice will be served.
In a statement made available to Newsmen by the Spokesperson of the Nigerian Police Force, CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the IGP ordered the Osun State Commissioner of Police, Olaleye Faleye to begin investigation into her alleged assault.
The statement reads in part: “We will await the report from the Osun State Police Command before necessary actions are taken.
However, we assure the general public that justice will be served in this case, to protect the core values and ethics of NPF”
Recall that in a viral video on the internet, Inspector Olorunsogo Bamidele, a married police officer who had visible injuries on her body, accused her direct boss, whom she simply identified as Ajayi Mathew of stripping, assaulting, and threatening to shoot her with a Dane gun, because she refused his sexual advances.
