An indigenous woman of Ilorin, Kwara state has recounted her ordeal on how she married 13 Husbands within 16 years.
Speaking on a Yoruba programme on Agidigbo FM, the 36-yr-old woman (name withheld) revealed she married her first husband at the age of 20 after she could not proceed with her education.
She disclosed that her bitter experience from her first marriage, led to further trials, hoping for a better marriage.
She said, “I have 13 husbands and I gave birth to two of them. I am 36 years old and I married at the age of 20 years.
“The one I stayed longer in his place was two years. I told my parents I wanted to go to school but they could only afford my primary school education.
“I told them if they don’t allow me to finish my education, I won’t learn the trade they asked me to learn so, I ran from home to Lagos for maid job but I could not afford my education with the money.
“I met my first man, he was also a dropped out and he put me into tailoring; I became pregnant after 18 months but after I delivered, I could not see my husband on the day of our wedding; that was how it started”.
