Disregard Senatorial direct primary results in Ekiti, Ondo, others – APC tells members

Adebayo Adenrele

The National Secretariat of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has disowned results being announced from the ongoing senatorial direct primary elections in Ekiti, Lagos, Ondo States and other 33 states of the country, describing them as unauthorized and contrary to the directive of the party’s National Working Committee (NWC).

A disclaimer issued from the Office of the National Chairman of the party in Abuja and signed by Albukalreem Bala Kwali, stressed stressed that such announcements were premature and violated the official position of the National Secretariat, which had directed that no senatorial primary results should be made public until they had undergone proper review and verification.

The APC consequently urged party members, supporters and the general public to disregard any results currently being circulated or speculated upon, insisting that such figures do not represent the official position of the party.

The disclaimer reads, “The attention of the National Secretariat has been drawn to various results being announced across several states regarding the Senatorial Direct Primaries.

“These unauthorized announcements directly contravene the established position of the National Secretariat and the formal directive of the National Working Committee (NWC) of our great party. The NWC explicitly mandated that no results should be announced at any senatorial level until they have been formally reviewed, verified, and approved by the Committee.

“On this note, we call on all party faithful and the general public to disregard any results being speculated upon or circulated, as they do not represent the official decision of the party.

“We remain committed to ensuring a free, fair, and credible electoral process. We assure all stakeholders that the authentic results will be formally communicated upon the conclusion of the entire exercise”.
