The FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, has urged the gubernatorial candidate of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ekiti State to stop dragging his name into the state’s politics, saying he didn’t authorize any message on his behalf at the party’s mega rally.

Recall that the National Women Leader of PDP , Professor Adenike Ogunse at the rally declared Oluyede as the preferred candidate of the Minister, urging Ekiti residents to support him come June 20 gubernatorial poll.

However, Wike, in a formal statement signed by his spokesperson, Lere Olayinka, clarified that he has absolutely no knowledge of the message read at the rally and remains entirely focused on his official duties as the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory.

He advised Dr. Oluyede to focus on his election campaign rather than dragging his name into Ekiti politics, particularly against Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, whose positive impact and good work in the state have been well noted.

“I don’t know how you will be fighting your leader from your state, former Governor Ayo Fayose, who is also my friend, but you want me, someone who is not from Ekiti, to support you. It has never worked that way, and it won’t work like that.

“If you want me to join your campaign, it is your state leader, Ayodele Fayose, who would invite me, not you. That is exactly why I boycotted yesterday’s grand finale campaign.” He said
