The Ekiti State Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, Comrade Kolapo Olatunde, has congratulated Governor Biodun Oyebanji on his victory at Saturday’s governorship election.

He described the outcome as “well-deserved” based on the governor’s performances during his first term.
The NLC chairman commended Ekiti workers for their peaceful conduct before, during, and after the election.
He noted that civil servants and labour leaders mobilized members to participate in the poll without intimidation or disruption at their duty posts. He also praised INEC, security agencies, and other stakeholders for ensuring the process was transparent and violence-free.
According to him, the peaceful atmosphere allowed workers to exercise their franchise freely and protect the integrity of the vote.
Comrade Olatunde pledged the continued support and partnership of organized labour with the Oyebanji administration in the next four years.
He urged the governor to prioritize implementation of the new minimum wage, pension payments and job creation for youths.
He called on all candidates and political parties who contested the election to accept the results and join hands with the government to move Ekiti forward.
“Governance is about service to the people, and workers are ready to collaborate with the government for a stronger Ekiti,” he said.
