The Pa Jacob Adebomi (Atunwase) family of Iyin-Ekiti has unequivocally stated that its ancestral property and legacy remain intact and have neither been sold, ceded, transferred nor released to the Oluyin Palace or any other individual, institution or authority.
The declaration was made by Prince Olumuyiwa Adebomi (Dublin) on behalf of the Pa Jacob Adebomi family, following what the family described as “false and unfounded claims” circulating over the ownership and status of the property.
According to the family, Pa Jacob Adebomi (Atunwase), whose name and legacy remain deeply associated with the property, did not build his house on Palace land.
“For the umpteenth time, we wish to categorically state that our father, Pa Jacob Adebomi (Atunwase), did not build his house on any Palace land,” the family stated.
The family further maintained that none of the Adebomi family members has signed any agreement transferring, relinquishing or releasing the property to the Palace or any other party.
It also specifically addressed reports alleging that Prince Olumuyiwa Adebomi had signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) concerning the property, describing the claim as completely false.
“For the avoidance of doubt, neither I, Prince Olumuyiwa Adebomi, nor any member of the Adebomi family has signed any such MOU concerning the property,” he stated.
The family stressed that the historical contributions and legacy of Pa Jacob Adebomi (Atunwase) cannot be erased or rewritten through rumours, unsubstantiated claims or any purported transaction that does not have the family’s consent.
It also paid tribute to the collective resolve of the Adebomi family, noting that members of the family have unanimously committed themselves to protecting the ancestral heritage and legacy handed down to them.
“The Adebomi family has unanimously agreed to protect our family heritage, which remains an undiluted legacy. We will not stand by while that legacy is demolished, misrepresented or unlawfully taken away,” the statement declared.
The family therefore appealed to members of the public, community leaders and all stakeholders to disregard unverified claims concerning the property and refrain from circulating information capable of misleading the public or creating unnecessary tension within the community.
While reaffirming its respect for constituted authorities, traditional institutions and the people of Iyin-Ekiti, the family maintained that the integrity of the Pa Jacob Adebomi (Atunwase) legacy must be preserved and that any legitimate claim to the property should be addressed through proper, verifiable and lawful channels.
The family remains committed to protecting the historical heritage of its forebears and ensuring that the name, contributions and legacy of Pa Jacob Adebomi (Atunwase) are preserved for present and future generations.
Signed:
Prince Olumuyiwa Adebomi (Dublin)
For and on behalf of the Pa Jacob Adebomi Family
