A man simply identified as Rotimi has been killed after he was allegedly attacked by a man popularly known as “Fuganizer” with a broken bottle while celebrating the annual Ogun Festival in Ado-Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital.
The tragic incident, which occurred under the bridge along Ijigbo Street in Ado-Ekiti, followed a minor escalation between both parties suspected to be under the influence of alcohol.
The suspect, whose real name was yet to be established at this press time allegedly used a broken bottle to attack Rotimi, inflicting serious injuries on him and later died from the injuries sustained during the attack.
His remains have since been deposited at the mortuary of the Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital for preservation.
The suspect reportedly fled the scene and remained at large as security agencies launched a manhunt to identify and apprehend him for investigation and possible prosecution.
