A Magistrate Court in the Ojodu Abiodun Magisterial District of Ogun State has sentenced a cable dealer, Samson Okonkwo to 15 days’ imprisonment with hard labour, without a fine option, for selling counterfeit Coleman wires after 317 coils bearing fake labels were seized.
Magistrate O.P. Mobee revealed that the cables had lower weight, reduced copper content and did not originate from Coleman Technical Industries, highlighting risks of electrical faults, fires and electrocution from substandard products.
