Ekiti PDP Aspirant, Obafemi congratulates Ewi of Ado on Udiroko Festival

Shekinat Abubakar

A governorship aspirant on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ekiti State, Otunba Peter Obafemi has congratulated the Ewi of Ado Ekiti, Oba Adeyemo Adejugbe, the Ewi in Council and all sons and daughters of the town for the successful hosting of this year’s UDIROKO festival.

Obafemi in a statement made available to newsmen in Ado Ekiti confirmed that the festival has the potential to boost the tourism sector of Ekiti and attract millions of Naira to the state if well managed and supported by the government.

According to Obafemi, some developed countries of the world make the better part of their revenue generation from tourism and festivals which he said were not even as colourful as UDIROKO.

The PDP Chieftain worried that successive governments only attend UDIROKO to make speeches and unfulfilled promises hence the festival has not gotten the desired global recognition like the House Oba and others.

He assured the Ewi of Ado Ekiti and the Ewi in Council that he would come up with strategic initiatives that would make the festival attractive and give it a global recognition if given the opportunity to serve the state.

The renowned entrepreneur explained that governance requires experience and diligence which he said are qualities that he possessed.

He called on people of the state to keep hope alive and begin to watch out for a better future with Obafemi.
