Nigerian singer, Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has set his sights on one of the highest accolades in the music industry, the Grammy Award.
The ‘Zazu’ crooner revealed in a recent interview with content creator, Timi Agbaje, that winning a Grammy is his ultimate goal, expressing his desire to bring home the prestigious golden gramophone.
His words, “My ultimate goal in the music industry is to win a Grammy. I will only feel accomplished if I win a Grammy. I want to win the African category,” Portable stated.
Expressing his ambition for international recognition, Portable emphasized his belief in his musical prowess and his aspiration to showcase it on a global stage.
“I want to win an international award because our local awards are compromised. I sing better than most of my colleagues. A lot of them use autotune. They can’t perform with a live band or sing good music. They can’t make conscious music,” he added.
