10th Assembly: Oyebanji hails Senator Bamidele’s emergence as Majority Leader

Governor Biodun Oyebanji of Ekiti State has felicitated the Senator representing Ekiti Central, Michael Opeyemi Bamidele, on his emergence as Majority Leader of the 10th Assembly.

Oyebanji, in a statement by his Special Adviser on Media, Yinka Oyebode, described Bamidele as a fit and proper person to occupy such an exalted position.

The Governor expressed confidence in Senator Bamidele, saying he would discharge his duties as Senate leader effectively and bring additional value to the legislative and oversight functions of the upper legislative chamber, as well as the good governance agenda of the President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

According to the Governor, Senator Bamidele is very well prepared for the national assignment, giving his sound education, intellectual disposition, amiable personality and political sagacity as well as the public service and legislative experiences he had gathered over the years as a three -time commissioner in Lagos State, member of the House of Representatives and two – time member of the upper legislative House.

He therefore urged him to utilise the position to build harmonious working relationship with various tendencies in the National Assembly and between the Legislative and Executive arms of government, in the overall interest of the country.

Similarly, the Governor also appreciated President Bola Tinubu, the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the leadership of the National Assembly for the honour done to the Southwest and Ekiti State in particular with the choice of Senator Bamidele.

The statement reads, “On behalf of the Government and good people of Ekiti State, I congratulate my der brother and friend, our distinguished Senator Michael Opeyemi Bamidele (MOB) on his emergence as the Senate Leader. This is indeed a call to serve and a recognition of his sterling leadership qualities as a seasoned administrator, a committed democrat and an avowed believer in the Nigeria Project.

“We are grateful to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the leadership of the National Assembly and the national leadership of our great party, APC for this honour done to the Southwest geo-political zone and Ekiti State, by the choice of Senator Bamidele for this important role.

“Senator Bamidele is a man of immense capacity who has built an excellent public service record over the years. He is a fit and proper person for the position and I am sure he will discharge his duties responsibly in the overall interest of the country.”
