A Nigerian Celebrity, Toke Makinwa is set to take the lead role in an international tourism movie titled “180 Nigeria”.
NEWSTODAYNG gathered that the Nigerian celebrity and digital star will be the focal point of a film that offers an intriguing and captivating experience for the audience.
Makinwa, who is both the project’s executive producer and an actress, shared how captivating the script was.
She described it as a powerful message to humanity and saw it as the perfect opportunity to take on the role of an executive producer and contribute to the movie’s development.
In her words, “As much as I love acting, I have been thinking about the next step in my career, and this movie seemed to be the right opportunity for me to don the hat of an executive producer and have my input in the development of this movie,” she said.
While speaking with news men, Pinnaclemena Media Nigeria, in partnership with Oxygen and the Temple Company, revealed the exciting details of the production, adding that the upcoming family film will highlight the rich Nigerian culture, traditions, values, and iconic landmarks, as well as the diverse people of Nigeria.
The director of 180 Nigeria, Bunmi Ajakaiye, expressed that the film aims to present African women in a fresh and innovative way.
She said, “I am incredibly passionate about telling stories from the female gaze. The African woman is one of the most intriguing, compelling, and complex characters ever – capturing her triumphs, sacrifices, fearlessness, and freedom through the lens will never lose its appeal.”
180 Nigeria is being promoted as an unprecedented film with unique and groundbreaking production in a culturally rich country like Nigeria, showcasing 10 states including filming in Dubai, UAE. It’s set to premiere in early 2024.
