The Nigerian champions, Bayelsa Queens will face Mamelodi Sundowns in the opening game in the 2022 CAF Women’s Champions League at the Starde de Grande Marrakech today.
The Prosperity girls qualified for the competition after winning the WAFU B Championship early this year.
Okaro’s side defeated a local side in Morocco 11-0 in a friendly last week.
Having supervised his team’s training for the past one in Morocco, Bayelsa Queens head coach, Doma Okara is confident his side will put up a good fight against the South Africans.
According to Okara, “We have worked hard to get here and we’ve prepared and trained well coming into this tournament.
“We’ve also watched some clips of Mamelodi Sundowns. We respect them as defending champions and we are going to give our best.”
