A former member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Bimbo Daramola (alias congressman) and Social Democratic Party candidate for Oye/Ikole Federal Constituency in the 2023 election, has promised to use his influence and connections with highly placed personalities across the country to facilitate great opportunities for people of his constituency if elected.
Daramola, who disclosed this during a media engagement with journalists, in Ado-Ekiti, on Tuesday, said that his proven track records within and outside office as a lawmaker are enough to earn him victory at the forthcoming election.
He noted that he is under conscious obligation to render account of his stewardship to his constituents adding that he is a Rep member without border.
“I’m under conscious obligation that I will give an account. I’m not a regular politician but a ‘mad man’. We have done the best we can but we can do much more. I am a Rep without border. I humbly present my records to Ikole/Oye Constituency. I won’t take advantage of my people.
“I have taken part in the 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th Assembly and I know how things are being run. I had moved a motion for 40 bills, I sponsored 8 and none of them failed. We don’t need to extort people, we dont need to use them to get into posts and then turn 360 degree.
“Vote buying is a cancer, I have invested in people in the past so, I have no reason to give anybody money on the election day before they vote for me.
“I admit that I am a ‘mad man’ because it takes only a ‘mad man’ to build a 32-bedrom Hospital with World Health Organization standard for his people.
“It takes only a ‘mad man’ to obtain JAMB Forms for 2,050 children four years ago to enable them further in their education.
“So, I am ready for other candidates to show their manifesto because I know the impending issues of my people and I am going to start there when I get there.”
