Team Ekiti has won its first gold medal in Golf’s male category at the ongoing National Youth Games in Asaba, Delta State despite hullabaloos over poor kitting.
The much heralded Gold was won by Abdul Rahman Fatai of Ekiti, while Fatai’s brother, Abdul Rahman Mustapha defeated Team Kaduna and Team FCT to advance to the Semi-final.
The Abdulrahman’s are brothers, representing Ekiti State in Golf’s male category.
In another development, Seyi Ogunsakin and Goodnews Aina representing Team Ekiti in Tennis beat his opponent from Ogun State 4-1, 5-3 and her Delta State opponent which is also the 4th seed of the tournament winning her with 1-4,5-3 10-3 to advanced to the quarter final respectively.
Meanwhile in Scrabble’s female category, TeamEkiti are through to the next round after Purpose defeated her opponent from Plateau 417 – 318 while Feranmi won against her Ogun counterpart by 355-348.
In female category of Table Tennis Ekiti Kolade Bright moves to the next round after winning her first knock-out stage match against Bayelsa by 2-0.
