…reiterates administration’s commitment to their welfare
Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji has charged the newly sworn-in 2023 Batch ‘A’ Stream II corps member deployed to the state to make use of their youthfulness, skills, knowledge and potentials to enhance the growth and development of the nation.
The Governor, duly represented by the State’s Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Youths and Sports, Mrs Faseluka Tola, gave this charge at Nysc Permanent Orientation Camp in Ise-Orun/Emure, Ekiti State.
According to him, “Gentlemen Corps members, you are aware that your mobilisation for service is a clarion call for you to rise to the task of nation-building and integration of its citizen. I have no doubt that you will give your best to the service of Ekiti State and the nation throughout your service in the various host communities and places of primary assignment (PPA) where you will be posted.
“As you commence your one-year national service today, I advise you to exhibit the highest level of responsibility, integrity, patriotism, loyalty, dedication, discipline and commitment to the nation. You must make a personal decision to abandon any past anti-social conduct and disposition so that the hope that you will move our nation to higher levels of achievement can be actualized”. He said.
Oyebanji advised corps members to give optimum attention to the orientation course content as it would determine their level of performance during the service year.
He also emphasized on alertness, attentiveness and readiness at all times to eagerly participate in all activities as they are specifically designed to enable a smooth and fulfilling service year.
The Governor reiterated his administration’s unwavering commitment to welfare of corps member in the state and also thanked past corps members for their individual and collective contributions to the development of the state.
Also speaking at the event, the State Cordinator, Mrs Mary Nnenna Chikezie enjoined Corps members to maximise the benefits of the Orientation Course contents, especially SAED and pursue the visions of the founding fathers of the Scheme.
“Avoid wrong and indiscriminate use of the social media, political affiliations or discussions, cultism, illicit drug usage, gambling, drunkeness and other negative vices in and outside the camp”. She stated.
