The Minister of State for Transportation, Prince Ademola Adegoroye will officially flag-off the dualisation of Akure-Ado road on Thursday, may 25, 2023.

This is contained in a statement made available to Newsmen on Wednesday by the Federal Controller of Works, Ekiti State, Engr Aransiola.

According to the statement, it recalled that the Federal Executive Council (FEC) on March 29, 2023, had approved the award of the Contract for the Dualisa’/on of Akure – Ita Ogbolu – lju – Ado Ekiti State Border – Ikere – Ado – Ekiti Road Sections I & II, in Ondo and Ekiti States to Messrs Samchase Nigeria/Messrs Horizon Construction Company Limited (JV) and Messrs Kopek Construction Limited respectively.

Speaking on its reconstruction, the road, which is the major link between the Ondo and Ekiti States capital cities, would ease traffic and improve socio-economic activities along the alignment.

The statement reads, “I am pleased to inform you that the Federal Executive Council (FEC) on the 29th of March, 2023 approved the award of the Contract for the Dualisa’/on of Akure – Ita Ogbolu – lju – Ado Ekiti State Border – Ikere – Ado – Ekiti Road Sections I &
in Ondo and Ekiti States to Messrs Samchase Nigeria/Messrs Horizon Construction Company Limited (JV) and Messrs Kopek Construction Limited respectively.

“As you are aware, the road is the major link between the Ondo and Ekiti States capital cities, and its reconstruction would ease traffic and improve socio-economic activities along the alignment.

“It is therefore my pleasure to invite you to the occasion of me official flag-off ceremony scheduled to take place on Thursday, 25th May, 2023 at 11am along Akure – Ado – Ekiti Road.”
