The Ajayi Polytechnic, Ikere-Ekiti, Ekiti State on Saturday held her maiden combined convocation ceremony for five sets of graduands of the Institution.

The combined convocation include 2017/18, 2018/19, 2019/20, 2020/21 and 2021/22 sets of graduands of both National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (NHD) levels.

The founder of the Polytechnic, Dr. Busayo Ajayi said the institution is marching forward in their quest towards raising giants and skilled technicians who are entrepreneurial driven.

Dr Ajayi also tasked the graduands to be great ambassadors of the institution irrespective of the hurdles militating the country.

According to him, “We are marching forward in our quest towards the fulfilment of our vision which is to raise giants and produce skilled technicians and managers who are entrepreneurial driven.

“To remain focused on our vision, we ensure that all our students acquire at least one skill before they graduate. Looking back, with a deep sense of appreciation to God, all our targets have been met so far.”

In her address, the acting Rector of the Polytechnic, Dr. Bolanle Ajayi revealed that 19 among the 131 Graduands from the five sets made Distinctions, 74 made Upper Credits, 37 made Lower Credits while 1 student made Pass.

According to her, the growth that the Institution has experienced is overwhelming, in areas such as infrastructural development, establishment of entrepreneurship unit, vocational programmes, establishment of NABTEB Centre for Ordinary level students, among others.

She therefore solicited support from philanthropists, lovers of education and well-meaning Nigerians to come to their aid to be able to achieve their mission and vision.

Meanwhile, the Ekiti State Government has urged the Institution to introduce health-related courses to consolidate the entrepreneurial drive.

The Special Adviser on Education to the Ekiti State Governor, Dr. Kofoworola Adeniyi, ably represented by the Executive Secretary, Scholarship Board in Ekiti State, Jegede Bosede, commended the institution for the giant strides.

“The courses available here are in-tune with modern trends. We want to salute you and the Rector for this giant strides. I know in distant time health-related courses will be introduced in this school.” She said
