Another day goes on as Manchester United’s proposed takeover looks no closer to completion.

The Glazer family announced their intention to explore the possibility of selling United nearly eight months ago now. And yet, United’s owners have not given any sort of update on how the process is going.

However, after eight months of announcement, Manchester United’s takeover saga could be completed today with Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani leading the race ahead Sir Jim Ratcliffe to replace the Glazers.

United’s unpopular owners, the Glazers Family who put the club up for sale in November targeted a deadline of March to ease the transition before the summer transfer window.

Ratcliffe is looking for majority control while keeping the Glazers on board in some capacity, while the Qatar businessman is seeking a 100 per cent full takeover.

And Qatari publication Raya now claims his bid is finally set to be accepted, with the Glazers signing all relevant documents in the coming hours.

Sheikh Jassim’s people are already said to be “expressing their confidence” in emerging victorious.
