Netizens on Twitter have knocked the Department of State Services (DSS), over the hateful tweet it posted on its official handle, @OfficialDSSNG against Maxwell Okpara, tagging him as Eastern Security Network’s Lawyer.
In the tweet published by the Security Agency, it accused Okpara of mobilising like-minded Lawyers against the Director General of the State Security Service, Yusuf Magaji Bichi.
DSS also described Okpara as an outlawed IPOB Counsel for defending the suspended CBN Governor, Godwin Emefiele.
The tweet reads, “Charge and bail, overzealous uninformed IPOB/ESN lawyer Maxwell Okpara mobilises other like minded lawyers against DGSS. Futile Efforts. Well, Nigerians, beware! This is in bad faith. Transferred aggression.
“A Biafran Republic agitator and Outlawed IPOB counsel defending the suspended CBN Governor. Is IPOB defending one of theirs???? What a contradiction…..hmmm… what’s the connection? Is someone telling us something? May Maxwell be properly educated on points of law, please.”
According to a Social Media Influencer, @DanielRegha, “Whoever is handling the DSS’ account needs orientation; Making a statement is one thing, but name-calling & profiling makes no sense. The post about Maxwell Okpara reeks of hate towards the Igbos which is unprofessional. Someone can easily mistake that for a parody acct. Shame.”
@Realokiemute also said “Where was Igbo mentioned in that Tweet? He said Okpara is an IPOB lawyer. What we should ask is: Has Okpara defended IPOB in court before? Is he an IPOB lawyer? IPOB is not synonymous with Igbo. Two different things.”
In the view of @S_olufowose, he said “The guy handling this page was assigned the wrong role. Very poor delivery. How is this even DSS’ official account. I had to check again to confirm it is not a parody account. Guy you worse.”
As at the press time of filling this report, the Security Agency has neither deleted the tweet nor issue a rejoinder why such post was tweeted.
