The Bank of Industry has reiterated its commitment to providing funds and loans to boost corps members businesses and entrepreneurial ambitions.
This was made known earlier today at Ise-Orun/Emure Orientation camp by Seyi Asowolu, Manager, Bank of Industry, Ekiti State branch during a sensitization lecture on BOI opportunities and support to corps members.
Seyi said that Bank of Industry (BOI) has initiated measures to address unemployment situation in Nigeria by developing Agro-valued chain industry and enable linkages to opportunity growth while also providing entrepreneurship training and financial support with funding of business machinery and equipment and providing of value addition activities.
According to him, report has shown that over 87 million Nigerian youths are being affected by unemployment.
Thus, the alarming rate of unemployment which has crippled growth progress for the Nigerian youth has spurred the industry to impact on the youths through the NYSC.
Speaking further, he said that there are programmes initiated to provide graduate with entrepreneurship funds, youth entrepreneurship support. He encouraged them to leverage on the opportunities to grow their businesses and be financially stable rather than being job seekers.
In his words, “This opportunity benefits serving corp members who have existing business and wish to expand.
“Take advantage of it and be free from the shackles of unemployment.”
