The outgoing Commander Amotekun Corps in Ekiti State, Brigadier-General Joe komolafe (rtd) has finally broken silence over the decision of Governor Biodun Oyebanji to replace him with Brigadier-General Olu Adewa (rtd).

Komolafe said he’s happy with the decision of the Governor because he was sure that his successor is equal to the task.

He disclosed this during the formal handing over of office to the new Commander on tuesday in Ado-Ekiti.

The former Commander added that Oyebanji had contributed to his success within his 3-year stay as Commander.

While calling on Ekiti residents to beat the drum of support for the new Commander, he extended gratitude to the former Governor of the state,Chairman Kayode Fayemi brought him on board as the Commander of thr security outfit.

In his words, “It’s not easy to start an organisation that is just new and we all know the challenges of a new Organization.

“God being on our side, with the support of Government and people of Ekiti state, I am immensely grateful to the former governor, Kayode fayemi who brought me on board and the current Governor.

“I am most sincerely grateful to him, he has done much for me to get to this level.

“I’m happy because I’m handing over to a competent individual. Not a person who will get there and will not know his right from left.

“I want to plead with everybody in the state to cooperate with him like they did, during my three-year tenure. They should do more, it’s not about me, it’s about the security of Ekiti state and Nigeria.

“I have left for good so, I have no regret because I am handing over to a competent man.”

While soliciting for the supports of Ekiti Residents, the new Commander, Brigadier-General Olu Adewa (rtd) said he will build on the legacy of his predecessor.

NEWSTODAYNG recalled that Oyebanji named Adewa as the new Commander of the Corps on wednesday 9th August, 2023.

He had thanked the former Commander for his services to the State, especially his pioneering role in the setting up of the security outfit, and wished him success in his future endeavours.
