Nigerian singer Peter Okoye popularly known as Mr P has called out financial institutions over an alleged fraudulent activities with his name.
The singer, who runs a lottery programme, in a post shared on his X handle, to revealed that fraudsters have been using his name to scam people in banks.
Mr P called out Polaris and Access bank respectively concerning the ongoing fraud and questioned how the financial institution would allow an individual to open an account in his name without verification, address and other necessary documents.
Peter Okoye expressed disapproval over the situation and noted the needs to protect his name, as innocent people are falling victim to the scam.
He further stated that he will be filing a lawsuit against the banks for damages.
“Enough is enough!! It’s either it’s an inside job or otherwise! I have a name to protect here and save some of these innocent victims! So get ready for me and my legal team!
“How can @polarisbankltd allow someone to open an account in the name of “PETER OKOYE PSQUARE” and @myaccessbank you also allow someone open an account name “PETER OKOYE PSQUARE” without valid means of identification, no biometrics, no BVN, no verified address or even utility bill to correspond with the address of the account owner. Now they are using my name to scam innocent people.
“I am suing this bank for damages and calling them out! One after the other. @officialefcc take not! Enough is enough.
