Delta State Police commissioner, CP Wale Abass has ordered the ban of tinted vehicles and covered number plates in the State.

This was revealed in a statement via it’s official X handle.

According to him, the essence of the ban is due to the activities of criminals who carry out their nefarious activities using tinted vehicles and sometimes covered number plates in the state during the “ember” months, particularly the reported incidences of kidnapping.

Abass warned that all vehicles that ply the road in the state must be duly registered with their number plates visible, adding that unregistered vehicles and vehicles with covered number plates will be impounded.

He equally appealed to residents of the State to understand and bear with the Police as security measures put in place are for the collective interest of the public.

The Commissioner further charged all Officers of the Command on the need to be proactive in the discharge of their assigned duties and responsibilities to fight against crimes in the state.
