Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, has declared two seats vacant, calling on the Independent National Electoral Commission to organize bye-elections for the concerned federal constituencies.
The appointment of Tanko Sunono and Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo as Minister of State for Education and Minister of Interior, respectively, by President Bola Tinubu rendered the two sits vacant.
The declaration of the vacant seats was known following the reading of their resignation letters at a plenary session.
Tunji-Ojo was elected to represent the Akoko North-East and Akoko North-West Federal Constituency of Ondo State; while Sunono was elected to represent the Yauri/Shanta/Ngaski Federal Constituency of Kebbi State.
