The Legal Practitioners’ Privileges Committee (LPPC) has confirmed Aare Afe Babalola’s (SAN) daughter, Folashade Alli and 57 others as Senior Advocates of Nigeria (SANs).

This was contained in a statement issued by the Chief Registrar of the Supreme Court and Secretary of the LPPC, Hajo Bello.


SAN, a rank conferred on legal practitioners in Nigeria who have distinguished themselves in the legal profession.



NEWSTODAYNG gathered that LPPC had earlier shortlisted 69 lawyers for the prestigious award, but only 58 made the list.

Bello stated that the LPPC approved the elevation of the 58 at its 159th plenary session on Thursday.

She noted that the swearing-in ceremony of the 58 successful applicants is scheduled to take place on Monday, the 27th day of November 2023.

Approving their rank as SAN, was the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Olukayode Ariwoola, who also doubles as the chairman of LPPC.

The full list includes Funmi Falana, the wife of Femi Falana (SAN); the daughter of Chief Afe Babalola (SAN), Felix Offia, Lawrence Falade, Kingsley Obamogie, Folashade Alli, Abiola Oyebanji, Bomo Agbebi, Daniel Uruakpa, Oseloka Osuigwe, Babatunde Adeoye, Babaseyi Joseph, Emmanuel Enoidem, Kehinde Aina, Ngozi Olehi, Aaron Okoroma, Ibrahim Angulu, Olayiwola Afolabi, Sule Shu’aibu, Abiodun Olaleru, Kazeem Sobaloju and Shehu Abdullahi.

Others are: “Fidelis Mbadugha, Onyemaechi Adikwu, Ikechukwu Onuoma, Yakubu Philemon, Johnny Agim, Aliyu Ibrahim, Isaiah Bozimo, Prisca Ozoilesike, Hahaha Santana, Adedayo Adedeji, Adeola Adedipe, Chikaosolu Ojukwu, Musa Attah, Ayotunde Ogunleye, Olayemi Badewole and Babatunde Adetunji, Alfred Atteh.
