Nigerian singer Mayorkun, has vowed to avoid all performances in Calabar. The singer expressed his frustration in a post on social media, after he was allegedly robbed in the state during his performance.
The artist, known for hits like “Mama” and “Che Che,” shared the announcement on his X (formerly Twitter) page, wishing good luck to other artists scheduled to perform in the Cross River State capital.
Mayorkun’s decision came after an event in Calabar, where fans allege that he fell victim to a robbery.
Responding to his post, some fans claimed that his expensive necklace, valued in millions, was stolen during his time in Calabar.
In a notable response, singer Iyanya expressed concern over the alleged robbery and appealed for the return of Mayorkun’s stolen item.
Iyanya urged the perpetrator to drop the item at The Grand Hotel in Calabar, assuring that he would personally compensate the individual.
This incident sheds light on the challenges artists face during performances and emphasizes the importance of security and hospitality at such events.
