Amid swirling speculation and unverified reports, the Lagos State Police Command has clarified the situation surrounding Afro singer Ibrahim Owodunni, popularly known as Primeboy, and his alleged re-arrest in connection with the death of his colleague, Ilerioluwa Aloba, known as Mohbad.
NEWSTODAYNG gathered that, contrary to circulating rumours suggesting Primeboy’s apprehension during his recent visit to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) at Panti, Yaba, the police have categorically denied such claims.
Primeboy had initially been taken into custody as part of the investigation into Mohbad’s demise several months ago.
Since then, he has been regularly attending appointments at the SCID, actively participating in the ongoing inquiry.
However, on Tuesday, reports began circulating, alleging Primeboy’s re-arrest and subsequent detention by the Lagos police command during one of his routine visits to the SCID.
In response to these claims, the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, swiftly refuted the rumours, dismissing them as false.
SP Hundeyin clarified that Primeboy was indeed allowed to return home on Tuesday, with instructions to report back the following day, Wednesday.
SP Hundeyin reiterated, “False. He was allowed to go home and report back today.”
