The Enugu Electricity Distribution Company Plc (EEDC) has alerted its customers to a complete system collapse, causing a blackout across the entire Southeast region.

Emeka Eze, the Head of Corporate Communications at EEDC disclosed that the incident occurred around 2 am on Monday, affecting customers in Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu, and Imo States.

He encouraged patience as efforts are underway to restore normalcy, with power supply gradually being restored at some locations.

In his words, “Consequently, we were unable to provide service to our customers in Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu, and Imo States,

However, the situation is gradually being resolved as we received supplies at Awada TCN station, Onitsha, at 7:30am.

“We are in constant communication with the relevant authorities awaiting full restoration of supply by the National Control Centre, NCC, Oshogbo.”
