Due to the shambolic results recorded against South Africa and Benin Republic this month by the Super Eagles of Nigeria, the country has plummeted in the latest FIFA rankings.
Nigeria, three-time African champions dropped eight places on the ranking from 30th to 38th.
Similarly, the Eagles of Mali that lost two World Cup qualifiers dropped from 44th to 50th in the rankings.
With a win over Cape Verde and a draw with Angola, five time African champions, Cameroon, climbed two steps up from 51 to 49.
Egypt climbed one place from the 37th to the 36th position in this month’s world rankings and moved to third place among African countries.
The Pharaohs defeated Burkina Faso and drew with Guinea Bissau in the African 2026 World Cup qualifiers group stage earlier this month.
Following the Black Stars back-to-back wins during the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, Ghana has scaled up in the rankings.
Ghana has moved to the 64th position, four places from their previous position after impressing in the World Cup qualifiers.
However, the four-time African champions are out of the top ten in Africa, sitting 12th position in the continent.
Meanwhile, Morocco remains on top of the ranking on the Africa continent followed by Senegal. Egypt, Cote D’Ivoire and Nigeria completes the top five countries in Africa.
Globally, world champions Argentina, are top followed by France and Belgium in the top three places.
