Governor Biodun Oyebanji of Ekiti State on Tuesday will launch a soft loan scheme specifically designed to empower women entrepreneurs in the State.

This was contained in a statement made available to newsmen in Ado-Ekiti by the State Commissioner for Trade, Industries, Investment and Cooperatives, Omotayo Adeola.

She explained that the initiative, which is a partnership between the State Government and Access Bank Plc. would provide opportunities for women-led businesses to access working capital through low-interest rate loans.

Adeola stressed that the initiative is aimed at bridging financial gaps by supporting business aspirations of women-led businesses and entrepreneurs, expressing confidence that the program would have a significant impact on the economic status of the people and the State in general.

Reiterating the commitment of the Oyebanji administration to the development of Micro, Small and Medium Scale Enterprises (MSMEs) to boost economic activities in the State, the commissioner added that a ‘road walk’ across Ado Ekiti metropolis led by the Deputy Governor, Monisade Afuye has been held on Monday as part of efforts at sensitizing market women, entrepreneurs and other stakeholders on the benefits of the scheme.

She advised all invited guests to be seated at the Lady Jibowu Hall, Governor’s Office, Ado-Ekiti venue of the official launch by 10.00am. on Tuesday, 9th July, 2024.
