A renowned veteran journalist in Ekiti State, Chief Ajibade Olubunmi, on Wednesday donated books to Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Ekiti State Council.
Chief Olubunmi donated the books titled; “Journalist at a Glance”, on Wednesday during the August edition of the monthly congress of the Union.
He said it was a fulfillment of the pledge he made during the 2022 Press Week when he was honoured by the Council, adding that the donation was to aid Journalists in their day to day reportorial duties as well as serve as a teaching tool for teachers of Journalism and Mass Communication.
The about 200 page – book covers several areas of Journalism.
Receiving the books on behalf of the Journalists in the State, the Vice President of Nigeria Union of Journalists, Zone B, Comrade Ronke Samo thanked the author for the gesture which she said would go a long way in assisting the Journalists and students of journalism in general.
Similarly, the Chairman, Nigeria Union of Journalists, Ekiti State Council, Comrade Kayode Babatuyi, also appreciated the donor and promised that the books would be well utilised.
The books were later handed over to the Coordinator of International Institute of Journalism, Ekiti State Chapter, Mr. Dare Daniels for the use of the students of the Institute.
The Special Adviser to Ekiti State Governor on Media, Mr. Yinka Oyebode, has earlier appreciated Journalists in the State for their cooperation as he solicited more media support for the present administration.
Others in attendance include; the Special Advisor to the Governor on Political Communication, Akogun Tai Oguntayo, Special Assistant to the Speaker, Ekiti State House of Assembly, Mr. Babajide Agbeyo, and some veteran journalists in the State.
