The Magistrate Court in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti state has convicted seven persons for indiscriminate dumping of refuse on the median.
The offenders, who were tried on Wednesday were found guilty of breaching the environmental laws and were made to be imprisoned in default of the sentence or pay fines of N7,000 each.
NEWSTODAYNG gathered that the defaulters were apprehended in the early hours of Wednesday by officers of the Ekiti State Waste Management Agency at Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) Road in Ado-Ekiti.
The defaulters charged by Magistrate Saka Afunsho include: Areo Kolawole, Toba Omolayo, Owolawi Bosede, Ademola Yusuf, Familayo Ajayi, Oluleye Abayomi and Ayodeji Kemi.
