A ranking member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Femi Bamisile, has attributed the effectiveness and acceptability of the Public Private Partnership(PPP) being devised by Governor Biodun Oyebanji to embracement of transparency in governance.
Bamisile, who represents Ekiti South Federal Constituency II, commended Governor Oyebanji over radical development being witnessed in agriculture and education sectors through PPP innovations, describing these as game changing efforts that are opening a vista of economic prosperity.
The Chairman, House Committee on Delegated Legislation, gave the commendation, in a statement issued in Abuja, on Monday.
Particularly, Bamisile saluted Oyebanji’s strides to launching Ekiti to high pedestal in food security by establishing commercial cluster farming in collaboration with Cavista Holdings Limited in three locations to attract youths into agriculture and bolster food sufficiency in the state.
As part of the success of the Human Capital Development initiatives, Bamisile lauded the donation of an ultra modern Senate Building by a Legal Icon, Chief Wole Olanipekun(SAN) to Bamidele Olumilua University of Education, Science and Technology(BOUESTI), which further accentuated the workability of Oyebanji’s PPP initiatives.
The Federal Lawmaker said he was enthralled with the level of acceptability being enjoyed by Oyebanji’s government to the private sector and individuals, saying driving of 21st century modern economy rests heavily on the shoulders of all stakeholders, not solely on the government.
He said: “Transparency in governance has attracted the current government of Biodun Oyebanji to individuals and private organisations and this I fervently believe was responsible for high level of successes being enjoyed by the PPP initiatives of this administration.
“No individual or private sector will partner any government seems to be corrupt and does things in opaque manners. Looking at his dealings with all strata of our society; the workers, traders, driver unions , politicians and others, one will notice that high level of transparency in dealing with financial issues by this governor.
“I am particularly elated with the level of commitment being put into agriculture and food security by establishing cluster farming in three locations through PPP driving force. This is not only about food production , but about 1000 youths had been attracted into farming , who are now potential millionaires in Ekiti in the nearest future.
“The most astounding was the donation of a multimillion naira Senate Building to BOUESTI by one of our leaders and respectable lawyer, Chief Wole Olanipekun(SAN). This donation buttressed the fact that Ekiti indigenes have gained confidence and trust in the current Ekiti leadership”.
Bamisile called on other well meaning Ekiti indigenes and interested organisations to show readiness to partner the state to usher in more development, saying the state currently has a leadership that can be trusted.
