The Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike has said that he was in total support of the suspension of the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Iyorchia Ayu.
Wike said this on Monday , during the commissioning of the Remodeled Community Secondary School Okoro-nu-Odo in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State.
The school, which has been in a dilapidated state was reconstructed under six months.
Speaking at the event, Wike said, ” Those of you who are fighting that they have been suspended, you have not seen anything yet. The fight have started. He who says his mother will not sleep, won’t sleep also.
” Ayu, the fight have just started. If you know him, tell him. Those of you who are close to him, tell Iyorchia Ayu the fight has just started.
“When we say he should resign he refused to. If he had resigned coupled with the colossal failure of the party, we would have said because he resigned.
” Thank God he refused to resign and now look at the performance of the party. Because they would have used it as an excuse. Thank God Ayu was there. What happened? Colossal failure.” Wike lamented
While commissioning the building project, the Governor of Ebonyi State, Dave Umahi commended Wike’s effort in the State.
Umahi said that the Rivers State Governor has the love of the people, adding that his indisputable personality and performance in the state is second to none.
