The Governor of Ekiti State, Mr Biodun Ayobami Oyebanji, has disclosed plans to partner with the World Bank, for the economic growth and development of the State.

Oyebanji, who led the state’s economy team to the World Bank Nigeria Office in Abuja, met with the Country’s Director, Shubham Chaudhuri.

According to him, the objective of the meeting was to build on the outcomes of the previous strategic meeting held last year and discuss ways in which the World Bank can further support the economic growth and development of Ekiti State

He also stated that the strategic partnership with the World Bank has helped the State address some economic challenges and capitalize on new opportunities.

The Governor also highlighted the state’s potentials in agriculture, knowledge, economy and tourism, while emphasizing on the need for investment in the various sectors outlined.

The World Bank team has however expressed their willingness to work with Ekiti State and pledged their support towards its economic development.

“We shall continue to work with our development partners to actualize our vision for the all round development of the State.” The governor assured.
