…urges to maximise them
The Mubi North Local Government in Adamawa State has gifted 75 bicycles to some of its dedicated and committed staff.
According to the Council Chairman, Alhaji Suleiman Yahaya, the bicycle were presented to 35 messengers and cleaners while 40 to the junior staff working in the palace of the Emir of Mubi, Alhaji Abubakar Ahmadu.
Suleiman also noted that the bicycles were presented to the beneficiaries free of charge in order to ease their movement to and from their working places.
He also urged the beneficiaries to make good use of the bicycles, stressing that the gift would be expanded to accommodate additional staff who deserved to be recognised with such initiative.
On his part, the Head of the Local Government Cleaners, Mr. Bulus Zamaya, commended the chairman for his kind gesture and also called on the beneficiaries to be committed to their duties to justify the gifts through hard work and loyalty to constituted authorities, stressing the initiative would reduce their transportation difficulties.
